Making a song into a QR code is a clever way to share your favorite music, a track you produced, or a custom playlist with friends. When someone scans the code with their smartphone camera, it instantly opens the song on a streaming platform like Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube.
Here is how you can turn any song into a scannable QR code in just a few simple steps.
Step 1: Get the Song’s Link
Before creating a QR code, you need a direct URL to the song.
- Spotify: Open the app, find the song, tap the three dots next to the title, select Share, and then tap Copy Link.
- Apple Music: Open the song, tap the three dots, select Share Song, and choose Copy Link.
- YouTube / YouTube Music: Tap Share under the video or track and select Copy Link.
Step 2: Choose a QR Code Generator
Next, use a free online QR code generator. There are many reliable options available, such as QR Code Generator, Canva, or Adobe Free QR Code Maker.
Step 3: Create and Customize the Code
- Select the URL option on the generator tool.
- Paste the song link you copied in Step 1 into the designated text box.
- Most generators will instantly create a black-and-white QR code, but many platforms allow you to customize it. You can change the colors, add a small icon or logo in the center (like a music note), or choose custom frame styles. Just make sure there is high contrast between the background and the code itself so phones can read it easily.
Step 4: Test Before You Print or Share
Always scan the generated QR code with your phone’s camera before using it. This ensures the link works properly and opens the correct track without any errors.
Step 5: Share Your Music
Once you are happy with the code, download it as an image file (PNG or SVG). You can now print it on stickers, include it in a birthday card, post it on social media, or add it to a digital poster. Anyone who scans it will be listening to your chosen track in seconds.
